new city, new blog!

As some of you know, I previously had a health and wellness based blog that fizzled out quite a while ago. So this is my attempt to start again fresh! I figured it was great timing - we moved down to Dallas from Louisville about two months ago and are all settled in. Being that we are so far from many close family and friends (all over - Ohio, North Carolina, Chicago, Colorado, California, London, Pennsylvania, and Long Island just to name a few), this is a way for me (and I am dragging Pat with me) to keep everyone updated on life in Texas :) Now we all know that I have a passion for health and fitness, and there is no way I could start a new blog and not post about it, but this time I will include other things in our lives - stories, memories, things I love, cooking and baking (usually very unhealthy - it is the one area that strays from my healthy mantra), and other daily happenings. Why "running on joy?" I guess you can say there is a double meaning here. First, I had to include fitness in someway, and because I love to run, it just made sense. Second and most importantly, 1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 says, "Be joyful always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." God commands that we have joy in our life, no matter what we are going through. And as you know, life has many peaks and valleys. However, it is your attitude that makes the difference! Thus, I try to run on joy the best I can (although I am not perfect by any means). Again, the purpose of this is to update everyone because it can be difficult to keep up with just phone and email. May these posts inspire and enlighten you, make you laugh, think, or challenge you in some way. Thanks for checking out my blog and for your support!
